The aim of the CEROSS Research School (CRS) is to train young scientists to become mature and independent researchers with wide expertise within the field of sex steroid research, with particular emphasis on research aiming to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of sex steroid-related disorders including osteoporosis, rheumatic diseases, the metabolic syndrome / cardiovascular disease, sex steroid-dependent cancer and neuropsychiatric disease.

By comprising expertise in both preclinical and clinical research, the CEROSS consortium is ideal for conducting translational research, enabling prompt testing of novel concepts in the clinical setting, as well as for making young scientists acquainted with both preclinical and clinical aspects of medical research.

Within the CEROSS research school, we will offer courses, seminars and other events with a special focus on sex steroids. Therefore this program is complementary to the mandatory postgraduate courses offered at your university and does not comprise a PhD position.

General goals of CEROSS Research School
• To offer a creative research and teaching environment, characterized by intense communication and collaboration, within the research area that is of interest for CEROSS
• To train PhD students to become competitive for future research careers both in the academy and the industry
• To strengthen and increase the quality and innovative aspects of research that is of interest for CEROSS by improving the quality of PhD training

The organization of a research school is not only beneficial for the postgraduate students, but also for the already established researchers within the CEROSS consortium. The possibility to gather frontline scientists within sex steroid research to participate in various events organized by the research school will inspire the researchers and be valuable for the research and increase the interaction and knowledge transfer between established researchers and the next generation scientists.
